Mazda's venerable 2009 MX-5 Miata has finally arrived in the U.K., where it'll continue its world-record standing as the best-selling open-top sports car ever produced.
With 20 years under its belt, the car has sold well over 800,000 units around the globe and is still considered by gearheads to be one of the best front-engine, rear-wheel-drive sports cars of all time.
The MY2009 Miata debuted at last year's Paris show and gets a refreshed front fascia that's inline with the brand's current Nagare styling. It also gets various other tidbits like a revised double-wishbone front suspension, one additional horsepower from its 167-hp 2.0L four-cylinder motor, and numerous interior options.
At this year's Chicago show, the automaker rolled out its latest MX-5 with a lineup of race-winning Miata racecars as part of the birthday celebrations. The display also included concept versions such as the 1989 Miata Club Sport, 1996 M Coupe, and 1999 Miata Mono Posto.
